Omexom Australia South-East has successfully mobilised its new five-year Public Lighting contract with AusNet, marking a significant milestone for the Urban Lighting team.
Following 11 years of successfully delivering the contract until 2021, Omexom was re-awarded the agreement after an extensive 18-month tender process. Throughout this period, the Urban Lighting team worked closely with AusNet and also provided support to maintain service delivery and assist in reducing fault backlogs across the network.
Commencing on 1 November 2025, the contract is valued at approximately $7 million per year and includes the delivery of public lighting faults, planned maintenance, night patrols, bulk lamp changes and lighting pole replacements across the AusNet distribution network.
To support the contract, the Urban Lighting team completed a major mobilisation program, including the implementation of the Fulcrum field management system, the establishment of a new depot in Epping, recruitment of additional field and office personnel across metropolitan and regional Victoria, and investment in specialised elevated work platforms and fleet equipment.
Since mobilisation, the team has met AusNet’s service level KPIs, significantly reduced fault backlogs and made strong progress on the annual bulk lamp replacement program.
The contract reinforces Omexom’s long-standing partnership with AusNet and reflects the team’s commitment to delivering safe, reliable and high-quality public lighting services that support communities across Victoria.
